What may be happening

Each application may reach the device through a different account relationship, permission, cloud integration or registration. Success through one route proves that at least part of the device pathway is available. It does not prove that another platform has current authority or a functioning integration.

What the evidence does—and does not—prove

The difference between the working route and failing route is useful evidence. Repeatedly resetting the device can erase that evidence while leaving an external account binding or platform relationship unchanged.

Examine the pathway

  1. 1
    Write down the working route

Record which application, account and control method still produces the result.

  2. 2
    Compare account ownership

Check whether both services are linked under the intended authorised accounts and household.

  3. 3
    Inspect the integration

Confirm the skill, service link, permission or platform connection—not only the device’s Wi-Fi status.

  4. 4
    Avoid unnecessary resets

Preserve a working route until the failed transition has been identified.

Evidence boundary

This pattern does not establish that the integration is responsible in every case. Product compatibility, regional availability, service withdrawal and hardware faults remain possible.
